Ingredients

You Will Need – (for 2 servings):

  • 200 g (7 oz) fettuccine or linguine

  • 300 g (10 oz) shrimps, cleaned and shelled

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon

  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese

  • Salt, pepper, and paprika, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh marjoram, chopped

  • Chives (optional, to finish)

The combination of lemon zest, fresh herbs, and creamy sauce gives this shrimp pasta a bright, aromatic flavor that feels both refreshing and indulgent.

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta:
Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water before draining.

  2. Sauté the shrimp:
In a large pan, heat the butter and olive oil. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and just cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. Prepare the sauce:
In the same pan, add a little more butter if needed. Sauté the chopped garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the heavy cream, lemon zest and juice, Parmesan cheese, and a splash of the reserved pasta water. Stir until smooth and creamy.

  4. Combine pasta and shrimp:
Add the drained pasta to the sauce and toss to coat well. Then add the cooked shrimp and fresh herbs (parsley, marjoram, and chives). Mix gently to combine.

  5. Serve:
Plate the pasta hot. Finish with extra Parmesan and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Flavor Tip:
For extra depth, add a splash of white wine to the pan after sautéing the garlic and let it reduce before adding the cream. It enhances the sauce’s brightness and brings out the shrimp’s sweet flavor.
